Question : I had applied Thrombophob Gel (Zydus cadila) on my baby's hips for relieving her of pain from PCV 13 vaccine.i could smell the gel from my baby's hands I doubt she might have licked the same.Is it dangerous.
Brief Answer:
Can cause mild vomiting
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Don't worry. The gel diffuses fast into the skin once applied.
Even if your child had licked, it should be a minute amount.
It can cause mild gastritis and vomiting.
If your baby develops any symptoms like vomiting and excess crying, take her to your pediatrician.
There is no antidote.
Symptomatic treatment with antacids like sucrafil and domperidone may be needed only if the baby develops symptoms.
Don't worry, apply only ice packs for vaccine sites
Avoid these gels after vaccination.

Arun
