Suggest Treatment For Asthma And Chronic Bronchitis

Question : I have severe (uncomplicated) Asthma and chronic bronchitis. I've been steadily going down hill, as far as my lungs are concerned, and see my Pulmonary Dr monthly...btw, I'm a 48 year old female who also suffers from Addison's and Ankylosing Spondylitis.
Pulmonary dr recently took me off my inhalers and told me to nebulize my meds only. He rx'd Brovana and Pulmicort. My asthma is still not being controlled and my o2 is hanging out around 89. I'm also on 20mg of Prednisone for the next 6 weeks.
My question is, is it safe to use DuoNeb throughout the day when I get short of breath and am wheezing and coughing bad? I would call my dr but he's gone for the day.

Yes, you can use duoneb as many times as you want.

Detailed Answer:

I can understand your concern.
Duoneb is having Salbutamol and ipratropium.
Both are short acting bronchodilators.
They are rescuer drugs and henceforth can be used as many times as you want.
In my opinion, you should discuss about using indacaterol and glycopyronium (newer ultra long acting inhaled bronchodilators).
They show great results in severe uncontrolled asthma.
Pulmonary hypertension (if present) and its treatment will also be useful તો reduce the symptoms.
So discuss all these with your doctor and start accordingly.
