Suggest Treatment For Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Syndrome

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Mar 2015
Question: hi can i still be suffering from benzodiazepine withdrawal? going on 14 months. symptoms are fatigue, depression, agoraphoia, extreme anxiety, obsessive thinking, waking up in panic all through the night. i used to be an extroverted person and very independent. now i can't drive or do anything by myself. i can hardly take care of myself. I'm a healthy 36 yrs old minus the mental stuff from getting off these pills. i guess i just need some reassurance. thank you for your time.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your query. I think I would be able to help you.

The symptoms of the query are not usually seen 14 months after drug withdrawal.i don't think your symptoms are because of the medicines.

I feel however that you may be having fibromyalgia. This is probably the best possible explanation for the symptoms.

Unfortunately, there is no good treatment of the condition. Many doctors prefer to keep giving some or the other medicine. But it's official that there is no further treatment.

I think I would suggest that you can get a test- vitamin D if not already done.

I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely. More like fibromyalgia

Detailed Answer:
Those are the exact ways a person with fibromyalgia feels.
If you still feel that its benzodiazepine levels, you can test a blood levels test to make sure.
I am quite certain its not because of the withdrawal after 14 months.
Unless you took them intermittently.
Please feel free to contact again for more details
Best of luck
