Suggest Treatment For Bloating And Gas When Diagnosed With Crohn's Disease

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Sep 2015
Question: I have been dealing with what feels like gas and/or bloating for the past two weeks. No pain, no lack of appetite, I feel as though if I could have a good bowel movement I would clear myself out. My mother was diagnosed with Crohn's disease and has been diagnosed with a small polyp, otherwise no family history of any other issues.

Brief Answer:
gaseous distention and other gastric motility issues

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic.

It seems that, you are facing trouble with dyspepsic symptoms been aggravated by improper gastric motility, or emptying.

Few simple measures may help alongwith medications.

Using antacids like omeperazole or lansoprazole once or twice daily before meals may help.

Other medicines including motility agents like domperidone increase gastric emptying and help smooth bowel motion with decreased incidence of gaseous distention and bloating.

Avoid taking fizzy carbonated drinks and spicy, greasy or oily foods.

Take brisk walk after half an hour following meals.

Don't lie down straight just after meals.

Adding fibre which you have done already will help with motility too.

Hope this answered your question. Good luck with these measures. Regards.
