Brief Answer:
Saline nasal drops should be helpful

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

The best medicine to give would be Nasoclear saline nasal drops 2-3 drops to be applied to each nostril a few times a day or as and when needed. You would have to be patient. It should be better in 2-3 days.

Thanks for writing back.

Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections and antibiotics are ineffective in such cases. Giving steam inhalation to your niece would help in reducing the congestion. Water vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the cough and thus would provide relief. Use Nasoclear saline nasal drops in case of nose block. Give Nasivion only if steam inhalation does not provide full relief. Use of this medicine is likely to increase the tendency of recurrence. For her cough or nasal discharge give her some antiallergic like cetirizine once daily for next few days.

Gurgling with lukewarm water should provide relief in sore throat. Saline rinse can be used alternatively.
