Thanks. Typo in my age--it is 60. Should I seek antibiotics? No visible blood in stool.

                                    Brief Answer:
Only if bacterial infection of stool is confirmed by stool culture...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXX,
I understand your concerns. Antibiotics are advised if you are having:
- diarrhea where bacteria are the cause
- stool analysis and culture where bacterial infection is confirmed.
Otherwise, the presence of mucus alone in your stool is not enough to start antibiotics.
You can start making some changes in your diet and take probiotics and see if improvement.
Hope it was of help!

Thanks...started taking Greek yogurt yesterday and ordered new Probiotics today (my others were expired). This has helped and I will close this string and leave you a review.
