Question: I had bronchitis and the flu. I am pretty much over it but I am very weak and a bit dizzy now. For example I was making a meat loaf and could not complete the job without sitting down one or two times to rest before I got it in the oven. Is this normal

Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

fatigue after the flu is common and may last even for a few weeks although a few days is the usual duration. Sometimes other complications may occur like a drop in hematocrit or other problems like dehydration from having a high fever and drinking less fluids than required etc.

Checking your blood pressure is also important, because the symptoms you've mentioned may indicate low blood pressure.
In either case testing is indicated if you can't cope with ordinary every day tasks. Checking for hematocrit, electrolytes, urea, creatinine, blood pressure and heart rate are some very basic tests to consider.

If you have done any of the above already, please let me know the results.

Kind Regards!
