Question: Hello
My nephew has slow moving chicken pox my daughter has had the vaccine but my husband and other daughter have not had them Is the rash contagious if it is still a rash no open wounds

Yes it is communicable

Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
Chicken pox in it's early stage is communicable.
It is said to be non communicable once scabs are formed over the lesions.
You should re visit your doctor for a revise diagnosis if there is just rash.
The classical rash of chicken pox is vesicular lesion on erythematous base.
