Suggest Treatment For Chills, Fever And Numbness In The Fingers

default
Posted on Wed, 25 Jan 2017
Question: I am being treated for congestive heart failure (low output) and high blood pressure. I take my medication regularly, I've taken it today. I was out in the weather but dressed properly. I have been home for over 3 hours when I started feeling a chill. It got worse over the next 40 minutes. I took 1000 mg of acetaminophen for what I thought was fever. I still have chills and my fingers have gone numb (not total but tingling). I am over weight and I have no idea what my bp is right now. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX sedentary lifestyle.

Brief Answer:
Keep warm, extra doses of Acetaminophn, monitor body temperaturee, see Dr

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

I properly understand this could be very frustrating and disturbing, especially having taken Acetaminophen with no remarkable results.

However, I think its too early for you to really worry much. I suggest you get your temperature monitored properly. It is not rare to catch a cold with these symptoms you just described at times when exposed to a cold, and it does not generally always depict serious diseases. It is good you took Acetaminophen. It might be worth taking another 1000mg in four or six hours. You can take up to 3000mg a day.

I strongly suggest you keep super warm (great you dressed warmer already), take warm drinks and monitor how your feel and your body temperature for one or two days. It is only after this that if these symptoms do persist, you might to see the doctor to screen for a a probable infection.

I suggest little more patience for the moment. Thanks and kind regards as I wish you the best of health. Please, do feel free asking follow up questions in case of need. It shall be my pleasure to contribute to your well being.
