Brief Answer:
You may start deaddiction drug therapy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I appreciate your concern over your father.
Chronic alcoholism has many serious ill effects over health..
To decrease it there are many deaddiction drugs like
Chlordiazepoxide and Acamprosate to give the same sedative effect.
Disulfirum therapy to make the patient stop taking alcohol..
Naltrexone to decrease the craving.
You should also consult a deaddiction specialist.he will know the dosages and duration of therapy.
Hope this will help you.

Brief Answer:
Then disulfirom therapy is best.

Detailed Answer:
It is very hard to do deaddiction therapy andthe patient being unaware of that.
Disulfirum therapy is can work in such a situation.
Disulfirum are some common drugs like metronidazole after taking it if someone takes alcohol it gives rise to serious ill feeling and patient quit drinking in fear of getting that.
But you need to consult a deaddiction therapist for the process.
Hope it is helpful.
Regards.
