Question : I'm suffering from cold. having thick phlegm continuous for last 5 days. wake up everyday with the top of my throat hurting. need to gargle to relieve the pain

I have read your query and understand your concern.

After reading your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having acute rhinitis with post nasal discharge (PND) .

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice
Saline nasal spray or rinse thrice daily ,
Salt water gargle twice daily ,
Tab Paracetamol thrice for pain ,
Antibiotic like azithromycin once daily &
Antihistaminic Fexofenadine like Tab Allegra at night for 7 days .

You will get relief .

You will need prescription for medication .
