Question : My son is 6 years old.he always has red circles under his eyes or sometimes look purpleish. People always ask me if he is ok,he looks sickly they say. Dr's claim its allergies. Little back ground,he had intussusscuption when he was 16 months old. his bowls have be funny since then. What i see and it could be odd it seems after he has a bowl movement the redness seems to fade. Could he mabe not be processing foods correctly or perhaps have some vitamin defeciency? He just looks so sickly all the time not sure why.

Brief Answer:
Most likely an allergic reaction

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for choosing this platform

Red circles under the eyes in this age group are most likely due to allergic reaction. As there is past history of intussusceptin, gets relieved after bowel movement and also there is sick look I would like to rule out few allergic conditions.
The common allergic condition like celiac disease (allergy to wheat,Rye, barley etc) and cow milk protein allergy should be looked for. Here there may be some allergic skin reaction with abnormal bowel movement and poor growth.
I request you to consult a pediatrician to search for the cause of allergy.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any queries.
