Brief Answer:
Consult a psychiatrist & deaddict yourself

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to us.

I can understand your concern and appreciate your decision to quit addiction.

Rexcuf and corex contain codeine.Codeine is an opioid. It causes severe physical dependence after long use. After that it is almost impossible to quit without help of a doctor in deaddiction centre.

If it is stopped cold turkey, it causes severe withdrawal features.
They include bodyache, sleep disturbance , watery eyes, diarrhea, fever, yawning and anxiety symptoms.
It can be treated with specific drug buprenorphine. It is narcotic drug and available with psychiatrist only.
Initial 3-4 days hospital admission required for treatment. Simultaneously clonidine, pain killers, vitamins and benzodiazepine given according to severity of symptoms.
Gradually all medicines tapered off under medical supervision.

Best thing is consult a psychiatrist personally and deaddict yourself.

All the best & Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
