Brief Answer:
You are not helping yourself

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing through HCM.

I have read your this query and previous queries also. I have understood your concerns.

Depression is a type of psychiatric illness which can be easily managed with antidepressants drugs but if neglected it can lead to suicidal thoughts and ideation and one can end his life. You have written to HCM before also and you have been advised to follow advice of your doctor and take the drugs regularly. If you are not taking the drugs regularly then how would they work? Antidepressants show their effects after 15 to 20 days and every time you stop the drugs after taking them for 15 to 20 days and then your condition worsens and then you visit your doctor. By doing this you are not helping yourself and wasting time and efforts of your doctor also.

I can understand that you are going through hard times but whatever has been told you is for your best interest and you need to follow the advice. Nobody is asking more than that. Nobody can help you coming out from the depression, it is you that will make the things right. Depression causes negative thoughts and lack of interest in life but you have to show courage while others are trying to help. You have to take care of your self. You can visit a counsellor if you would like.

Do not stop the drugs in this manner. By doing this you are making the illness complicated.

If a person has some stressor in his life then even with the drugs, person may not improve. You have to handle your loneliness in a productive manner and have to take interest in your life. Engage in the activities that you like the most in the past and that gave you motivation and pleasure.

Comply with the drugs and take regular follow up visit to your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have further query then I shall be happy to help.
Wish you good health.
