Question : I have been really depressed for a long time. I live in Crossville and am currently attending XXXXXXX Perspectives but I don't feel my depressision is getting any better. I am not sure but I think I need more help and I don't know where to look. I think I might need to see a psychiatrist

I am so sorry to hear that you are feeling depressed. I understand what a terrible feeling this could be. Symptoms of depression could also be caused by hypo-functional thyroid gland. I will suggest that you get evaluated for other possible causes of these symptoms. If nothing is found, then you would be considered for depression. Luckily we have very effective and patient friendly medications for this. There is really no reason to continue and die from a condition that can be properly handled medically.

In all, get evaluated first by your doctor for other possible causes of similar symptoms like hypothyroidism. If no cause is identified, you would be evaluate for depression and referred to a psychiatrist if that is judged necessary. In any case, be rest assured that we would not stop until we get what it takes to make you feel better.
