Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Abdominal Cramps While On Vancomycin

Question: Is c-diff impossible to get rid of?? Husband on antibiotics intravenously now for 7 weeks for infection. At the beginning of this week started having cramps and diarrhea. Was given vancomycin to take 4 times a day for 14 days. Getting worse. Diabetic and 76 yrs old.

Related your concern I think that using vancomycin is the right choice to get rid of from C. difficile.

Your husband is considered immunodeficient person because of the diabetes and needs more time to treat infections.

Thank you for replying. He has been taken off intravenous antibiotic..he is to continue with the vancomycin thru Friday of this week. Is to let them know if c-diff getting better. States he feels better. Thank you for your help.
