Brief Answer:
It may continue for another few days. ORS needs to be given.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Let me assure you that the cause of the diarrhea is not important. Intake of ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) and plenty of other fluids is the mainstay of treatment. It comes in ready made form or may be prepared by mixing a full XXXXXXX in a liter of water. Replenishment of the lost water and salts as the critical for the treatment so that dehydration can be averted. Treatment is not supposed to bring down the frequency of passage of loose stools. Darolac contains probiotics or beneficial bacteria similar to the ones in yogurt and can be given. It might be beneficial in such a case but it is not likely to reduce the frequency of stool. The adequacy of the hydration would be evident from the frequency of passage of urine. If that seems to be fine, you need not worry.

You should take the child to a doctor without delay if he becomes lethargic.
