Suggest Treatment For Dog Bite

Question : Hi, I am XXXXXXX XXXXXXX My brother brought a new puppy ( 45 days old). It is not yet vaccinated for rabies. While playing, it bit me on the hand and blood came. This happened at 10 PM night on January 2nd, Saturday. I immediately washed with soap, detail and water and took Rabipur injection next day morning at 10 AM ie on 3rd January, Sunday. I took second dose as per schedule on 3rd day but took third dose by mistake on 8th day instead of 7th day. So, now I have taken on days 0, 3 and 8. Should I start a fresh course or do I continue the present course?

Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
In normal circumstances one doesn't need the vaccine till 3 months of age ( of puppy ) if mother has been vaccinated and if the puppy is not allowed to play outside and get mixed with other street dogs.
However if unsure then you must get it as you are taking it now.
Normal schedule of vaccine does suggest that you have to take third dose on 7 th day but it doesn't make difference if taken on 8 th day and the present course can be continued.

Thank you very much for your reply, doctor. Should I continue the fourth dose on day 14 which is the original day or should I take it on day 15 as I have missed it by a day from 7 to 8.
