Brief Answer:
Increase the dose to a maximum of 10mg per day...

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX!

You are saying that you are currently using Bumex 2mg 2X daily for edema with little improvement.

Don't worry, in this case i would normally recommend an increase in the dose to a maximum of 10 mg per day. If you were my patient I would also add spironalactone to your therapy. This would potentate the diuretic effect of bumex and will avoid hypokalemia associated with prolonged use of diuretics. Before you make any changes to your prescriptions though, it would be a good idea to discuss this with your primary care doctor or the doctor who prescribed the Bumex in the first place.

Hope this was of help!
