Question: I play tennis and I strained the inside of my elbow and I have some bruising that showed up there. After I played my match I have a slight indention or dimple in my bicep now. My bicep does not hurt and my elbow is feeling a little better but I am worried. Did I tear my bicep?

Brief Answer:
No it is not biceps torn

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I can assure you that if your biceps in not hurting and elbow is feeling better then It is not biceps tear. But to confirm the diagnosis I want to know a little detail.
1. Have you got any steroid shot in your elbow?
2. Is this the first time you are seeing that dimple? Can you send me image of the dimple.
3. Do you able to move your elbow in full range with out pain?
Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.

Thank You!

(1) I have not received any steroid shot to my arm.

(2) Yes, this is the first time I have noticed the dimple or dent - it is very small

(3) I still have some trouble rotating my fore arm. My elbow is still sore - but better. I have some bruising on the inside of my elbow. I thought initially it was an elbow injury, but when I noticed the dimple in my bicep I was worried I hurt my bicep as well.

(4) I don't have a photo now or a way to take one now.

Brief Answer:
It can be muscle or ligament injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think it can be a ligament or a muscle injury. I would recommend you to do following.
1.Splint the elbow in straight position.
2.Apply ice and voletran ointment
3. Take Etoricoxib after discussing with your doctor.
4. wait for seven days.
Any minor injury will heal after 7 days .If even after 6 to 7 days there is pain and difficulty in movement then I would recommend you to get MRI of the elbow to see if there is any serious injury. Getting MRI in a fresh injury may show some false positive injuries, but after 7 days we will get a better imaging.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup question.
Thanks.
