Brief Answer:
Yes you can take viagra, there is no problem in that.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You can take Tab.Viagra 50 mg (as a starting dose) before 1 hour of starting of sexual activity but make sure you have aroused or stimulated properly otherwise drug will not work. After sex,the effect of drug will go away within 4 hours if not then seek immediate medical help to avoid any injury.
You can increase the dose up to 100 mg if you don't get desired effect.
Only take this drug once a day.
There is no any contraindication to diabetes. So, no need to worry.
Your ED could be due to diabetic Neuropathy. Can you tell me about your glycosylated haemoglobin level or about your sugar control?
Some tips to improve your ED:
Loose weight if obese,
Avoid alcohol and smoking,
Stress free life,
Exercises regulary( also helps to control blood sugar).
hope you will find this information helpful.

Dear Doctor,
My glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) remained around 7.0 +/- 0.1 since last few years.

My weight is 61 Kg and varied between 60 to 62 Kg during last several years. My height is 5 feet 4 inch.

I am trying to increase my exercise activities. Is evening walk as effective as morning walk? Or morning walk is necessary?

If the effect of drug remains after 4 hours ( I Presume Erection ??), What could be the possible injuries?

Thanks
doctor

Brief Answer:
No need to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for follow-up query,
Your HbA1c and weight as per height are under control. So no worry at all.
Its not necessary to exercise only in morning, you can do it on evening also depend on your convenience. The advantage of doing in morning is that you will have a good breath because of abundant oxygen in atmospheric air.Daily half to 1 hour exercise will be sufficient.
The plasma half life of sildenafil is about 4 hours means,in 4 hours of time (after taken) the effect of drug will be eliminated from body.Post 4 hour effect might occur very rarely so,you no need to worry. The possible chances of injury are penile oedema, hematospermia, penile haemorrhage but this side effects are very rare in an otherwise healthy individuals.
As in your case, your sugar is under control,no obesity,no hypertension,no heart disease.
So,don't worry.I just told you that because of your awareness regarding usage of Viagra.
Hope you understand very well.
Always take this drug while keeping your physician informed.

Dear Dr. XXXXXXX Kabra,

Thanks for the prompt response. I have some more follow up queries;

As you said the side effects are very rare, If occurs I would like to know the remedy for these side effects is available in small cities also or it requires specialized doctors/ hospitals?

To purchase Viagra do we need a medical prescription? If so, the prescription by you will be valid to purchase the Viagra?

With regards,
doctor

Brief Answer:
officially prescription is required.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for follow-up query.
Yes, a medical prescription is absolutely necessary to get this drug. You also need to be examined by a physician before taking it.
Mostly, it is contraindicated in heart and kidney patients and to taken with precautions in person taking antihypertensive as there is chances of developing hypotension.
Penile injury or edema or pain is extremely rare, and as per your medical history there is no need to worry in taking that. These side effects can be treated in any surgical hospital in the city by conservative methods. So,don't bother regarding that.

Dr.sandipkabra.
