Brief Answer:
Tamsulosin can cause erectile dysfunction

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing through HCM.

Tamsulosin can be given in Urinary tract infection and that is why it has been prescribed to you. Tamsulosin is usually discontinued after the infection gets treated. You should ask for stopping this drug to your prescribing doctor.

Tamsulosin can cause decrease sex drive but dry ejaculation is more common as compared to erectile dysfunction. Tamsulosin causes, in some patients, retrograde ejaculation in which semen goes back in bladder instead of coming through urethra.

Apart from this, the cause of erectile dysfunction may be psychological due to stress of not maintaining proper erection and preoccupation with urinary problems. Fear of failure in bed and poor satisfaction of partner is another cause for anxiety which leads to erectile problems. Spending less time in foreplay and preoccupation with penetrative sex is also a cause for erectile dysfunction.

What do you mean by no morning glory? IS it absence of erection in early morning? You can test it yourself by placing a strip of paper around the base of penis when it is not erect and sticking both ends together tightly with gum. If you have morning erection then the strip of paper will rupture and you will be satisfied that your erection is normal.

In my opinion, apart from visiting your current doctor you should also visit a sexologist or psychiatrist and tell your problems in detail. He will guide you about how to come out of this situation. If the culprit is tamsulosin, then stopping it, will solve your problem.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have further query then I will be happy to help.
Wish you good health.
