Suggest Treatment For Extreme Pain In Hands And Feet

For the past month I have been having extreme pain in my hands and feet. Also my right arm constantly goes numb and feels heavy. Also my limbs are extremely fatigue. My symptoms began with an intense migraine. I only had one migraine at the beginning but now the top my head seems extra sensitive on a daily basis. I dont know how to explain it but i don't feel like I am having a migraine or a headache. It just feels different. I am the army so these symptoms extremely difficult to cope with. My doctor ordered me a MRI for my brain and spine. My results came back with only abnormal brain activity. My question is what can cause abnormal brain activity? Also is there way to pin point the reason a person is having abnormal brain activity. Can abnormal brain activity cause these symptoms. I never heard of this in a test results before. My primary doctor is completely lost and doesn't know what that means and is hoping that my neurologist can answer that question. Thanks ahead for your time it is really appreciated.
Abnormal brain activity is a nonspecific term.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms and they are suggestive of neurological symptoms.
Abnormal brain activity is not a finding of MRI. In MRI, we can assess the brain structure and not the function. The brain function can be assessed with EEG or PET scan of the brain.
In view of your young age, we need to exclude multiple sclerosis (MS). If the MRI of brain and spinal cord was normal, it rules out MS.
Also, we need to exclude peripheral neuropathy by doing nerve conduction studies. Vitamin B12 and D level in blood should be checked to rule out their deficiency.
I hope it helps.
Best wishes,
