Question: My 11 month old has puss coming out of both eyes. The eyes are not red or scratchy like pink eye. Can I give him polysporin drops? My 4 yr old had the same issue last week.

Brief Answer:
This requires treatment by antibiotic eye drops.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that your 11 months old baby is having pus discharge from the eyes. This is most probably because of infection of the conjunctiva in the form of conjunctivitis and requires treatment by the use of antibiotic eye drops.
Polysporin is an antibiotic eye drop and it can be used for treating this condition.
But I prefer to use newer and safer eye drops like Moxifloxacin eye drops in children aged less than 2 years as the safety of polysporin eye drops in this age group is not well established.
With the use of this antibiotic eye drops or its equivalent the condition should improve by 2-3 days.

Hope this is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
