Brief Answer:
You need to see either a Pulmonologist or a Gastroenterologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.

Generally if anything goes down the windpipe, a person will have sudden choking and violent cough which helps to throw out the offending stuff. It's an emergency and immediate help is required.

Oxygen level will go down simultaneously. However, a very small piece may get lodged somewhere in the windpipe without blocking it completely and give a foreign body sensation. Here the oxygen level may remain normal.

Another possibility is it may get stuck in the food pipe. In that case, you have to see either a pulmonologist or a gastroenterologist who can perform an endoscopy to view your windpipe or foodpipe to look for the piece and remove it.

Hope this answers your query. Feel free to ask further.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
You may or may not have symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
There may be no symptoms or you may have cough and irritation in the throat depending on where it is lodged. You may wait for sometime and if feeling persists, I suggest, it's better to consult the specialists as advised above.

Good luck.
