Question : My mom, 80 y, broke the neck of her femur a week ago. She has COPD, arrhythmia and had an ischemic stroke 3 years ago. What's the best treatment with the best outcome in her case? Thanks.

In case of fracture neck femur, the best treatment is hip replacement but it seems that the physical condition of your mother is not good enough to handle such a major surgery.
The other option is traction and cast for 8-10 weeks and after that she will be able to walk with the help of a walker.
