Question : my son has itchy bumps on his body as well as a fever and cough. what could possibly be causing the itchy bumps?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I am Dr. Kakkar (Dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have viewed the image.

He seems to be having hives i.e urticaria. In children urticaria can happen due to an infection( viral flu/ cold/ sorethroat), food or food preservatives, drugs/ medications love me antibiotics/ pain killers etc. I suggest an oral antihistamine for him for a week. How old is he? Body weight?
Topically you may apply a soothing lotion e.g Calamine lotion or sarna lotion.

I suggest syp. Atarax (10mg/5ml), 1tsf, thrice a day and syp. Alerid (5mg/5ml), 1tsf once a day in evening.
