Side Effect Of Taking Azithral Which Have Been Taking For Boils?

I am taking Azithral 500 for 9 days, 1 every day for multiple boils, which came out after the treatment of rashes due to drug reactions by taking Omnacortil 10mg, Atarax 10mg for one month. Please let me know the side effects if any. Along with Azithral, I am also taking Enzoflam, Xyzal and ofcourse Sach-RD Bio-Switz.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Gastrointestinal upset is considered to be the most common side effect of Azithromycin. This includes nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Continue with the drugs until boils subside. Adequate hydration is essential. Drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water everyday. Local application of antibiotic ointment such as neosporin or mupirocin can also be done. Keep the affected areas clean and dry.

You have mentioned taking two antihistamines, Atarax and Xyzal. You can take any one of it which is sufficient.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
