Question : My husband just told me he has a fracture of the eight rib diagnosed at an Urgent Care center. Should he see his own Dr.; should I be worried about other issues; how to speed recovery. Thanks

If there has been no significant trauma or fall I would definitely recommend a followup visit with the primary care physician.

Please make an appointment to see his primary doctor soon for a consultation and discussion. There are some metabolic disorders which may contribute to brittle bones and he may need to be tested for these.
