Question : I had a bad fall in my yard when my large dog pulled me down and I hit my face on my flower garden concrete edging. I broke my nose cracked bone around my eye sockets. Hit my forehead really hard. Unfortunately, I was in a terrible headon car collision when I was 7. To this day I have calcium deposits all down the left side of my head. I am now 61, female, I feel like it isdifficult for me remember more short term. Also, I will have nasal drainage all of a sudden when I bend over. The drainage is clear. This accident happened about a year ago. I did immediately go to ER and had cat scan which doc was not to concerned about. He glued my cuts together that had mulch and dirt in. I took the glue off next day and washed out well and used butterfly bandages to close. Does this sound like a brain injury and will it heal eventually? Thank you so much.
Brief Answer:
Probably fractured cranial vault.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
If the clear drainage from nose persists, it means that there is a fracture of the anterior cranial base and dural opening.
It is a condition that may lead to meningitis, so, it should be taken seriously.
In my opinion, you should consult with a Neurosurgeon because there is need to review the past imaging studies and probably for new ones in order to understand better your condition.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
