Question : I have been peeing frequently for a year now, especially when I drink alot of fluids. I now have an uncomfortable pain/pressure in my mid abdominal area. I am a 30 year old male and are freaking out reading all of these threads about chronic pancreatitis. I seem to be feeling the same everyone who else who has this disease has been, and I worry because I have been a fairly heavy drinker and smoker since college and don't eat all that healthy. I see a lot of doctors tell people they can't figure out what's wrong with them even after blood and urine tests. Both of mine came back fine, but I am still having the discomfort. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Combination of history, clinical evaluation and investigations

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thank for your query.
Read and understood your history well.
Noted frequent urination, pain in mid-abdomen which you on your internet search must have found to mimic pancreatitis.
Let us first of all know that many of the symptoms will be common for more than one problem/disease/disorder.

For pancreatitis diagnosis you need to undergo contrast enhanced CT scan/MRI/MRCP.
Along with this a corroborative history, progression, supporting lab tests all together can only decide whether you are suffering from Chronic pancreatitis or something else.
This can best be done under the guidance of a Gastroenterologist. Hence I would advise you to have a consultation with a Gastroenterologist.
Other causes of discomfort too have to be considered like colitis, gastritis, any inflammatory disease of the small intestine and so on.

Prostatitis: Clinical evaluation, per-rectal digital examination, ultrasonography, tests of semen, blood and urine preferably with culture and sensitivity, proper history of onset, progression and the present scenario under the guidance of Urologist can help to get a proper diagnosis.

So the best policy to have proper diagnosis is to have a combination of proper history, clinical examination, relevant investigations under the guidance and care of a proper Specialist to get a proper diagnosis and a plan for treatment to get a cure.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries
if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
