All cardiac investigations are normal.Once the gas is passed out which is always through mouth she feels relieved.Endoscopy report shows foveolar hyperplasia and fundic nodule. My question is dose gas formation cause palpitation and giddiness? Is the biopsy report giving us the indication of cancer? Is it okey is the nodule is removed ??? Will nt it flare up the problem ??What is the treatment of this biopsy finding? Please help.

Brief Answer:
It's not cancer.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Greeting from Dr. Divakara.P
First of all thanks for choosing Healthcaremagic for posting your query.

Your first question regarding whether gas formation causes Palpitation or Giddiness, my reply is NO it won't cause . See there are many causes of Palpitations , it could be due to problem in the heart or problems outside the heart.
You said all cardiac Investigations are normal , I need to know whether a Thread Mill test was done or not ?

If heart is not the cause we need to search for other probable cause of Palpitation. These include Thyroid diseases , Adrenal diseases , Anemia ( low hemoglobin ) and Psychological causes like Anxiety, fear or depression. So I advise you to get evaluation done for these conditions. You need to get

Complete Hemogram , Serum TSH , 24 hour Urinary Metanephrines . revert back with these reports.

Coming to second question -- Foveolar Hyperplasia is a change in the inner covering of stomach that occurs due to some irritation either by medications or food . It doesn't indicate Cancer. But what was the biopsy report of Nodule in fundus ( if that also showed Foveolar Hyperplasia then nothing to worry and no need to remove nodule )

There is no harm in removing Nodule but at present there is no need to remove it also.

Regarding treatment for Foveolar Hyperplasia-- There is no specific treatment for it . Just avoid taking unnecessary medications and control acidity with PPI's like Omeprazole .

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .

Regards.
