Question : I think I am going through menopause. I am experiencing hot flashes and losing a lot of hair all over my scalp. My mother and grandmother also experienced the hair loss. I have multiple health problems, such as chronic bronchitis due to reflux that I was born with and a severe digestive disorder that doesn't respond well to probiotics. Can hormone replacement therapy help regrow my hair?

Hi

Hormone replacement therapy helps in hair regrowth.

It reduces symptoms such as hot flashes.

Using HRT like estrogen generally helps menopause related hair loss.

The effect of estrogen is to make hair grow faster and stay on the head longer.

Basically more estrogen means more hair.

A drop in estrogen can induce hair shedding. This happens after giving birth, sometimes after stopping birth control pills and with menopause.

After starting treatment with HRT it takes a minimum of 2 to 4 months to see any improvement in shedding and re growth of hair will take longer time around 6 months.
