Question : I hit the top of my head pretty hard on a low doorframe about 5 hours ago. I did not lose consciousness; even finished work and drove home. I developed a headache and a migraine-type pain behind my left eye. I'm prone to migraines anyway. I took 2 tylenol and iced my head. The pain subsided but now I have a headache in the area where I hit it. Tylenol was almost 4 hours ago. Should I be concerned about concussion or any other risk? email address is YYYY@YYYY Thank you.

Brief Answer:
There is no cause for concern

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms,

Headache normally accompanies any type of head injury be it mild or severe. As the injury was mild in nature, only problem you are experiencing is headache(severity could be out of proportion to amount of injury as you are prone for migraines) and in absence of other symptoms like vomiting, abnormal movements of body, drowsiness there is definitely no cause for concern.

Continue taking analgesic, local ice application , rest and sleep will take care of symptoms. Also ensure good intake of fluids and nutrition.

In case the symptoms persist or yu develop new symptoms like persistent vomiting, drowsiness then would suggest you to consult your Primary care physician.

Do keep me updated.
Wishing you speedy recovery.

Take Care
