Brief Answer:
Retained products of conception

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. It is not at all normal to have heavy bleeding with soakage of tampon one week after the abortion.
The bleeding should be light and should stop by 2-3 days.
Heavy bleeding should not occur after an abortion process is complete.
It indicates incomplete abortion or retained products of conception in the uterus.
I will suggest you to get an ultrasound done immediately to assess the retained products of conception and get appropriate treatment, whether surgical procedure or medical management.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Products of conception most likely possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
The possibility of retained products of conception is high if there is excessive bleeding after abortion.
Once you are pregnant, the bleeding which occurs after abortion is due to products of conception and not due to absence or delayed previous menstrual cycles.
In the meantime, you can take tranexemic acid to reduce the flow of bleeding along with consultation of your doctor. Do get an ultrasound done at the earliest.
