Question : I am 22 years old and had an operation at 8 years old to correct my reflux. Some damage was done and I have high blood pressure as a result. I have been on Candesartan with a diuretic and other meds for the past 6 years but none really get my pressure low. It still is at 150/100. Shouldn't it be almost normal if I am on medication?
Brief Answer:
Your blood pressure should be on normal values with medications.
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query very carefully.
Yes your blood pressure should be on normal values with medications. Since it's still 150/100 mmHg you should discus with your doctor to increase the doses or to add another pill at your therapy.
If you were my patient I would add a calcium channel blockers (amlodipine) to your therapy in order to lower blood pressure < 130/90 mmHg.
Hope this was of help!
