Brief Answer:
TLC is increasing to fight infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. TLC is total leukocyte count.
2. Leukocytes are white blood cells, present in blood and protect us from any outside injury like infections, etc.
3. Without leukocytes, we are prone for all infections, even minor ones can be catastrophic.
4. During periods of infection, like at present - the leukocytes increase in number to mount a strong immune response. Once the infection is under control, they slowly over a week reduce in number.
5. There are 5 types of leukocytes. Neutrophil (pus cell) is increased predominantly in bacterial infection while lymphocytes are increased commonly in viral infections. Here if you look, Neutrophil should be increased predominantly.
6. Increasing TLC indicates good body immune function. Body is trying to fight of the infection.

ESR is increased due to infection and associated inflammation. It will slowly reduce.

There is a long list of TLC increase. However, specific leukocyte increase will be more accurate in identifying the cause.

Improved protein rich diet along with Vitamin supplements, will help in building immune system.

For frequent urinary tract infections, good hydration (atleast 6-8 liters of water) will be helpful.

Hope it helps.
