                                            Question : Dear Doctor,
My son is suffereing from fever since yesterday afternoon.
We are giving him crocin 500 mg. Fever is around 102 DF.
It seems that even after taking medicine, fever is not going down much. Also we feel like giving medicine again after 4~5 hours as fever increases.Since yesterday, crocin has been given 3~4 times
Along with this he has sore throat. Feeling throat pain while swallowing anything along with mild headache.
He is complaining of nose blockage also.
Pl suggest.

                                    Brief Answer:
Rest and tepid sponging.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting the query,
In my practice i do not prefer giving antibiotics for the kids with fever less than 3 days.
If the fever is more than 100 DF you can give TAB.MEFTHAL P or IBRUGESIC once in 8 hours, along with tepid sponging which is compulsory. Ask him to do salt water gargling after every meal. If fever persists more than 3 days complete blood work out with antibiotics are needed.

                                    Brief Answer:
Need an antibiotic therapy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for getting back,
If the fever is still persisting after a week you'll have to consult a pediatrician to get his throat examined. If he's suffering from tonsilitis he'll have to be given antibiotics like amoxclav which is available only on prescription.
any query get back.
take care.
