Question: My daughter is running high fever and her Pediac prescribed Meftal P (Mefenamic Acid Suspension) by Blue Cross Labs and Novamox CV 625 mg (Amoxycilin and Potassium clavulanate). When I searched online I am seeing Meftal P is not for fever and not really recommended by Drugs.com. Pl advise. Fever is still there. She is 10 years old.

Brief Answer:
It is an effective fever reducing agent. Do not worry.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Let me assure you that Meftal P or mefenamic acid is a very effective fever reducing agent. In fact it is more potent than paracetamol in doing so.
Following is the link to a scientific publication indicating the same:

If fever is still present, I would fist need to assess if the dosage is adequate. It depends upon the weight of the child. Please let me know the weight and I would let you know the requisite dose.

Hope that helps.
