Question: I drank some old wine and immediately felt an itch in my upper butt crack. When i examined it, it looked red and inflammed. I put an alcohol pad on it and the itch went away and swelling went down. I am now left with two small bumbs. I do have HSV 2 could this be an outbreak?

Brief Answer:
Few possible causes

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.

First,I don't think this is related to alcohol drinking. Such symptoms may be caused by several things. It can be hsv outbreak definitely but also, this can be gluteal or perianal abscess or pylonidal sinus. These are very common. It can pull back on its own. also inflammation of sweat glands or dermatitis is another possible cause. In every case, if it happen again, you should see proctologist for further evaluation.

wish you good health.
