Question : About 2 weeks ago, I developed an itchy rash on my back, stomach, around my pelvis area and on my inner thighs. I don't understand what it is. I know i used a heating pad on my back two nights in a row prior. The rash started out on my lower back and spread to the areas i mentioned. The itching wont stop. What is it?

                                    Brief Answer:
Self limiting skin problem
Detailed Answer:
hi again
I have seen the attached pictures .
You seem to have developed lesions of pityriasis rosea.
This is basically a self limiting skin problem in which itchy red lesions can appear over the trunk ,thighs and upper arms .
Mix and apply cortisone cream with Vaseline or a moisturizer twice daily .
Take some oral antihistamines like Benadryl or levocetrizine along to relieve the associated itching.
Since it is a self limiting problem ,so it tends to heal by itself in most people by four to six weeks .
Hope it helps
