Question : Recently holidayed in Spain (August) and got a few insect bites. Mainly cleared up but had a reoccurence 3 days ago where the same place was very itchy again. Not itching anymore but skin is very discoloured (as attached). Diameter of spot approx 1.5cm, small and localised and hasn't grown or spread.
Brief Answer:
insect bite with new bruising
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care questions
You recently had insect bits that caused significant itching. I assume you scratched it too. The initial redness resolved and now you have this new dark blue area in the same spot. What you have is a bruise that has not surfaced. It was caused by your scratching the area along with the inflammation caused bruising under the skin. This is completely benign and will resolve in the next week. This is not any sign of any disease or condition.
