Brief Answer:
it's probably expected

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

you seem to have a lot of problems. Regarding your urinary tract infection, it's unusual for the fever to just disappear after being as high as 103.5. It usually takes a few days until it really disappears. Sometimes drugs may mask the fever (paracetamol/acetaminophen or painkillers). Where is this abscess? Where is it coming from? Do you have more information? Are they going to drain it? An abscess may cause fever until drained properly.

Since you're in the hospital you shouldn't worry too much as the doctors are checking your progress every day and will take every necessary action to help you.

I hope you find my comments helpful!
Kind Regards!

My concern is that my fever came back even though I'm on antibiotics and I'm concerned that its not normal. My infectious dis ease dr said it could take a bit longer for the meds to kill off infection, is that accurate in your opinion

Brief Answer:
yes

Detailed Answer:
Yes this is what I was talking about. Infections like this do require a few days to get better and it's very common for the fever to remain at high levels for at least 2-3 days. The fever usually gets gradually to lower levels but you shouldn't expect to have 103.5 at day 1 and be afebrile the very next day...

And there is also this abscess that I don't have enough information to talk about. If you do have an abscess somewhere then this is going to be causing fever until drained, unless it's too small to consider...

Kind Regards!
