Suggest Treatment For Lump In Breast For 15 Years

default
Posted on Sat, 7 Jun 2014
Question: hello sir/madam, my mother is of age about 60. Before 15 years she noticed a lump in her breast (we are still not clear whether the lump was present before that or not ). The lump was not externally visible she only felt it by her hand. It was not painful and it was not creating any problem. Then she neglected it and not examined the same by any doctor. Now even after 15 years she is not having any problem/pain with it. But still I am worried when I came to know about breast cancer from Internet. Sir is she in danger ??? Can this be a cancer ??? Is it having any chance to become cancerous in future ??? What is the survival chance in advanced stage breast cancers ??? I am much worried. Please help me.

Brief Answer:
Less likely to be malignancy

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Namasthe,

First and foremost let me reassure you, there is no cause for concern. Internet is ocean of knowledge and some information may scare even the coolest of person.

Lump which has been present for 15 years or more is less likely to be malignancy(cancer). It is more likely benign(non cancerous). \It will still require assessment by General Surgeon, followed by Ultrasound and Ultrasound guided core biopsy. Based on the age factor it is very important to rule out malignancy. It will be very much reassuring.
So take an appointment with Surgeon and consult him/her at earliest.

Take CAre
