Suggest Treatment For Male Pattern Baldness And Increased Hair Loss

Question: The density of my hair on the middle of the head has decreased when compared to the side and behind. Also, the visible portion of my forehead has increased which means the hair growth has reduced in the front. I will send a couple of photos which will illustrate the same. I had dandruff earlier an year or two back which has now reduced to minimal.

I don't have anyone in my lineage who is bald though. However, my father's hair density on top of the head has also reduced after he reached his 50s, but he is not bald.

I would like to know if the density of hair on the middle of the head can be increased? Are there any natural home remedies for it? I don't want to spend thousands of rupees for this.I suffered viral fever of 104 degrees 10 years back and post which the hair fall started.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
I have gone through your complaints and reviewed the uploaded picture.
You have started with male pattern baldness.
It is a hormone dependant hair loss occuring in genetically predisposed individuals.
Unfortunately there are no home remedies effective in the treatment of this type of hair loss.
There are chances that viral fever might have precipitated your hair loss but it is Androgenetic alopecia or male pattern baldness only.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to start with minoxidil lotion 5 percent on the affected areas of the scalp.
The dose is 1 ml twice daily.
Along with this take hair supplement like tablet androanagen once daily.
You need to continue these medicines for 4-5 months to see significant response and for atleast 1 year to see maximum results.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
