Suggest Treatment For Nasal Polyp

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Nov 2015
Question: Is this a nasal polyp in my nose? I have pictures.

I've always seen this shiny ball looking thing in my nostril but now it almost covers my entire left nostril. I have chronic sinus infections also.

Brief Answer:
Most likely the inferior nasal turbinate or deviated septum.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The shiny spherical surface that you see in your nostril is most likely to be a hypertrophied inferior nasal turbinate or a grossly deviated nasal septum.

2. Upload images will help. Otherwise get a Nasal examination done by an ENT Specialist.

3. Nasal polyps will be painless to touch and can be differentiated on blunt probing by your ENT Specialist. If there is any doubt, a diagnostic nasal endoscopy and a Sinus CT will settle the diagnosis.

4. Treatment will alleviate any nasal obstruction.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
