Question: Last Sunday I got up early to take a friend to XXXXXXX for her yearly "cancer " screening. My right arm was sore above the elbow. Now it's Saturday and my arm is black and blue both above the elbow and now down into my forearm and swollen. Need I be worried?

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

I am concerned about the progressive nature of your symptoms. Since you are now seeing increasing bruising and swelling and I am concerned that this might represent some type of ongoing bleeding or possibly a blood clot.

Since your symptoms seem to be worsening I think this should be evaluated once again as soon as possible. I would recommend that you see your primary care physician or local urgent care/emergency room provider for an evaluation.

again my concern is that you could have some type of ongoing bleeding or possibly a blood clot. I have no other explanation for why you would have bruising and swelling of your arm at this time.

Thank you again for sending your question. Please have this evaluated as soon as possible by a local medical provider.

sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
