Question : Hi Docotr,

Around 9 months back, my wife got small hit on her head (a heavy gun fell on top of her head). There was no vomiting ans her sleep was normal. But from last few months she keeps complaining about bone pain (nerve pain) on the area where she got hurt We consulted general physician, he advised meftal porte and stimtel tablets. Though these medicine gave some temporary relief, she is not feeling comfort. Does a hit around 9 back cause such problems?. Can you please help us in this regard. Also can you please help us any prescribed tests to go with.

Brief Answer:
MRI scan will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The head injury that she had can cause a concussion that can take even months to heal. She may be irritable, have trouble concentrating, be unable to remember things, have headaches, dizziness, and blurry vision. These problems will probably go away slowly.
You can find symptomatic relief by following some of the tips suggested below.
1. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) can be taken to help the pressure symptoms in the head. Remember NOT to use aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil), naproxen, or similar drugs.

2. Eating a light diet.

3. Avoiding exercise, weight lifting, or heavy activities. Light activity around the home is okay. She need not need to stay in bed.
In case the symptoms are persistent, she might need to consult a ‎neurologist for proper examination and tests like MRI scan to rule out anything serious.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
