Brief Answer:
acid reflux (GERD) or gastritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM

If you have vomited only once in morning, then the first possibility comes in mind about acid reflux (GERD) or gastritis in your case. It may also cause pain in sternum.

The refluxed acid sometimes enters into the respiratory tract through esophagus and may cause throat inflammation and may give feeling chest/sternal pain or heaviness .

This kind of symptoms may get resolved with some appropriate over the counter medications with strict dietary precautions.

So, I will suggest you to take below mentioned symptomatic drugs with some dietary precautions and this combined effect will helpful to you.

1) Continue to take proton pump inhibitors (Omeprazole) in combination with prokinetic drugs (levosulpride 75 mg) instead of antacid alone.

The combination actually increases stomach emptying time along with effect on gasteoesophageal sphincter.

Syrup digene 2TSF will also be helpful.

2) Take over the counter pain killer like advil 400mg if sternal or shoulder blade pain is troublesome or unbearable.

3) Take over the counter Tab.Ondasetron 8mg for vomiting or nausea on SOS basis and antihistamines like levocetrizine 10 mg if you have coughing.

Apart from medications, I will suggest some dietary precautions.

1) Avoid oily, spicy and high fiber diet.

2) Avoid eating with full stomach, instead eat small frequent meals.

3) Avoid taking rest for at least 2 hours after meal.

4) Walk slowly up to first 2 hrs of meal but don't walk fast.

5) Have your dinner before 8 pm so that at the time of sleeping your stomach will be empty.

Hope this helps and let me if you have more questions.

Thanks and regards,
