Question : I bumped my shin bone a week ago and a bump has developed that is now annoyingly painful. I am 65 yrs old and 180 #. I did try ice packs several days ago. What can I do to reduce the swelling/pain?

Dear patient,

a bone bruise can need several weeks to heal somtimes. For the swelling and pain in addition to cooling there is antiinflammatory/ antipain- medication like ibuprofene or similar available and mostly effective.
